Thomas Mason, my grandfather, moved from Virginia and began farming in Sawyer, Kansas in the late 1920's. We took over the family farm from my father, Keith, in 1994. Many changes have been made since then as we have switched to no-till in 2009, due to a commitment to soil health and increasing our sub-soil biological activity. As a farm, we are in the process of making the shift, one step at a time, from growing government-subsidized commodities to growing good, local food for families like us. In 2014 we added a greenhouse for growing plants and selling produce and retail starter plants.
